Role
UX/UI Designer
Industry
Services / B2C Engagement
Duration
3 months
The idea
Building an app where people can store, share and transmit memories and the histories of object that holds an emotional and sentimental values.
The app is focusing on the memorability, the capture of the emotions and transmission.
The Problem
How many stories are lost forever because they cannot be preserved and passed on?
The design challenge
Designing a compelling user experience despite the lack of validated user needs. No formal research had been done in regards to the potential need in Eternall stories. The concept was based on personal insights and assumptions rather than market research.
My process
1.Research
2.Customer journey
4.Usability testing
Research
Designing a compelling user experience despite the lack of validated user needs. No formal research had been done in regards to the potential need in Eternall stories. The concept was based on personal insights and assumptions rather than market research.
Key Findings
Potential users
Although people share memories around jewelleries/watch they might inherited with loved one. They dont feel the need of using an app to store these memories as their satisfied with their current tools ( in app photo galleries, social media.. )
Professionals
Jewellers are showing an interest in the app and believe that it could bring an added value to the jewelleries.
The research results did not validate the founder’s initial assumption. However the strong enthusiasm from professionals about integrating a digital experience with their product highlighted a genuine interest and potential opportunity worth exploring further.
2.Customer Journey
In collaboration with the marketing team, we developed the initial customer journey. This was a crucial step in the project, as it provided a clear vision and sparked discussions about the scope of the mobile app’s MVP. It also laid the foundation for future iterations of the journey.
We prioritise 3 mains journey
The onboarding:
The homepage:
The object page:
We needed a good onboarding to explain Eternall stories and guide the user how to use the product. t The homepage is where the user can see all his object and can have access to the stories of each one. The object page: On this page the user can see all the relevant information regarding the objects as well as personal stories. This page can be accessed by other people who've been given access to it by the owner.
3.Ideation
With this customer journey i started sketching a few wireframe in order to pursue the direction toward the first visual of the product.

4.User Testing
Before we sent the design to the developers i wanted to test the app. I tested the app in person with 7 participants. I then presented the results to the team.
Purpose of the test
I gave the participant a series of tasks in order to assess:
The usabilities of the icons
The clarity of the navigation
The clarity of the language used
Overall feel of the prototype
My learnings
Having a different approach from the rest of the team was incredibly enriching and helped me gain a broader perspective on the project. I learned a great deal about prioritisation and how to make more strategic decisions.Throughout the project, I was able to enhance my UI skills, particularly in areas such as spacing, color usage, and working with Figma. One of the highlights for me was the Usability Testing phase—it was both instructive and insightful, offering valuable feedback that will guide future iterations of the product.I do wish we had more time to conduct additional usability testing sessions. However, due to time constraints, we had to make the most of the limited opportunities we had.Looking ahead, the next steps include running another round of user testing with our first users for the second version of Eternall Stories. Additionally, I plan to explore industries beyond jewellery to adapt the product to a wider range of needs and expectations.
